Products: LifeLine Pager

A robust, standard alphanumeric pager that is simple and easy to operate. The battery-operated pager is specifically programmed to work in conjunction with the LifeLine UniCOM system in order to meet British Standard requirements.

Main Fetaures:

  1. 1)  Set to vibrate and audible mode
  2. 2)  Low battery warning
  3. 3)  Back up Battery
  4. 4)  80 digit text display
  5. 5)  Dual LED Back display Light
  6. 6)  Belt clip or neck pendant option

When the LifeLine transmitter is activated a message is sent to the vibrating pager carried by the individual. The user accepts the message if it is a standard text just once, but if it is an alarm message the unit will continue to vibrate every 5-8 seconds until the main fire alarm is reset.

The pager displays all fire alert messages communicated from the transmitter(s) and are delivered as priority over any standard messaging at the time of alert.

The number of pagers you can use with your LifeLine unit is unlimited so you can run as many units as you wish depending on your requirements. Additional pagers can be added to your system at any time.

Benefits:

  1. Fire alerts over-ride standard messaging
  2. Message alerts cannot be accepted in an alarm situation, the unit will continue to vibrate until the main fire panel is reset
  3. The vibrate function can not be switched off on a menu as with most standard pagers
  4. No on/off button so the user is unable to accidentally turn off the alerter
  5. Robust unit protected by casing
  6. Strong vibration alert
  7. Pager set to tone and vibrate to assist emergency services during rescue
  8. Pager can be programmed to work in single or multiple buildings on your site

The pager displays a constant visual display of battery power level and indicates when battery life is low. The lifespan of the batteries is dependant on usage and are easily replaced (standard AAA). We recommend that standard alkaline batteries be used rather than re-chargeable batteries, as their lifespan is often shorter and less reliable.

Each pager is programmed with its own identity. This enables group and individual paging when using the paging software module.

In addition to the pager being used to notify users of an alarm, it may also be used for general day-to-day communication. When the LifeLine UniCOM is fitted with our paging software module, LifeLine pagers can then be used to receive general messaging from any designated P.C on site installed with the paging software.

Site Specific Pager Vs Roaming Alerter

Universal paging will no doubt be offered to you as a benefit, being able to roam from building to building, town to town, throughout the UK using the same alerter unit. BUT what happens in an alarm situation if the unit fails to work? For example if an individual is off site but using a pager provided by your organisation, where does the liability lie? Is it with the owner of the site covered by the alerting system? OR is it with you who provided the alerter? And vice versa, if a visitor to your site is using his or her own alerter with whom does the liability lie then? REMEMBER, your responsibility is for individuals on your site/premises only. Systems offering universal coverage can involve unnecessary risk. Your concerns in terms of Disability Discrimination and providing safety for the deaf and hearing impaired should be with your site and your system only and is why Clarion recommend a site specific solution for your needs.
